What is a Postpartum Doula and what do they do?
Postpartum Doulas are there to Mother the Mother.
Bringing home a new baby is exciting but can also be very daunting. It is a major adjustment to family life in every aspect. A Postpartum Doula is there to provide emotional and physical support post delivery to help support her through her journey into motherhood, or expanding her family.
Postpartum Doulas are trained and well equipped to provide support with;
infant feeding options and breastfeeding support
safe sleep practices
soothing and sleep shaping techniques
getting into a new rhythm and routine with baby
overnight stays so that parents can sleep
connections to community resources for mental health and wellness providers
light house chores to take pressure off mom
meal preparation
sibling adjustment to life with baby
